Espresso Yourself!
Just took my last course of the year – I just learnt how to make coffee! I LOOOOOVE making coffee! It’s such a skill. It’s fun, it’s a bit harder than bar-tending, but it’s just so cool! I’m looking forward to the day where I’m making coffee on the beach! I’m actually excited to do a few more courses in espresso making – namely, coffee art! (once i find a good course, I’ll post it here – watch this space!)

So, i’ve actually completed quite a few courses:
- Responsible Service of Alcohol
- Senior (now called Applied) First Aid
- Construction White Card
- Responsible Gambling Services
- Bar Skills
- Prepare Serve Espresso Coffee
And, that’s it for the year. I think it’s safe to say that I enjoyed the courses at Sydney Bar School the most.
You can find the link here: https://www.sydneybarschool.com.au
I had Cate as my trainer in both Bar Skills and Espresso Making – and she’s fantastic! (I actually signed up for the Expresso course because the Bar Skills class was so much fun!)
She loves and really cares about hospitality – so you get a great fun education with her. I give her five out of five stars – no question!

Both classes are taught in the same room (and really easy to get to in Sydney – right on George Street) – fully equipped with espresso makers and taps – and you use real coffee and milk and pour real beer… so, it’s like you’re actually doing it on the job.
I highly recommend Sydney Bar School for any backpackers out there who want to travel around Australia!
On another note. It looks like the word’s out – Santa has moved!
