Guest Post: A Beginners Guide to San Francisco
No matter how a beginner’s guide to a city may sometimes sound redundant and naive, useful advice always come handy. Fortunately, there are a lot of guides online that are just a click away, providing all sorts of tips that will make our trip to any city much more enjoyable and easier to plan. Here are some places you should deffinitely visit in San Francisco.
The Ferry Building Marketplace
It’s recommended that you will visit this market place on a Saturday morning, because that is the time when it’s crowded with chefs and local foodies. Here you will find some of the best fresh produce in town, including gelato, chocolates, oysters, meat and cheese.
Blue Bottle Coffee Company
If you want to enjoy one of the best coffees you’ve ever had in your life, then you should check out the Blue Bottle Coffee Company in Hayes Valley and the good news is that you can also find them at the Ferry Building Saturday Market. The coffee they serve is not only very fresh, but it’s also small batch roasted and organic. Even better, if the beans are not sold twenty four hours after they have been roasted, they’ll be donated. And in what regards the coffee, we all know that a good cup of it doesn’t go that well if you don’t have something sweet, so for that you can check the Hayes Green.
Filbert Street Steps
If you’re up for a nice hike and some amazing city views, then you should certainly head over to the Filbert Street steps. These steps will carry you through Sansome Street and then Coit Tower until you will lead through Telegraph Hill, which is, if you know a bit about San Francisco, the home of the popular parrots. Even though the climb can be a little tiresome, getting to check out the views after you’ve reached the top of the tower while passing through the lush gardens is definitely worth it.
Paxton Gate
With its large collection of taxidermy and bizarre science themed goods, Paxton Gate certainly makes it on the list of the trendiest shops in the Mission. Here you will find amazing artwork, plants, fossils, exotic insects and also rare butterflies. Even better, next door you’ll find the pirate store of the popular Dave Egger who is very well known as being a great writer.
Pizzeria Delfina
While the hotels in San Francisco do serve some pretty nice food, if you want to taste a pizza that will delight you with its amazing taste, you’ll certainly need to visit Pizzeria Delfina. With a tasty California style thin crust pizza and a large list of wines, enjoying an afternoon lunch here is going to be a wonderful memory you’ll always remember with a smile on your face.
Hotel Des Arts
What is special about this hotel is that the majority of rooms it has features works by artists from all around the world. From paintings, to installation and graffiti, this is place is an eclectic collection of wonderful works that will leave you breathless.
With that being said, if you’re visiting San Francisco and you really want to make the best out of your trip, visiting these wonderful places will certainly make your wish come true. Enjoy your stay here!
