Van Life

Traveling in a van is kinda awesome.  You can be anywhere at any time, and you don’t really need to look for accommodation.  Juicy Tara

There’s nothing really needs to be booked, so if you feel like you want to spend extra time at any location you can!  And, that’s exactly what we did.juicy hood

For 44 days, we traveled from the West Coast of the United States to the East Coast checking out cool places like Alcatraz, Carlsbad Caverns, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park and numerous other places along our way.  It was an amazing way to take an adventure.  juicy creek

And when the weather changes, don’t worry… if you’ve got the time… you’ve got the accommodation to hang out and just relax until the snow melts!snowy juicy

Traveling in a van is kinda like an epic social experiment.  Some people understand what were doing.  They were mostly from the hippie era living in California – They loved hearing our stories and shared some of their epic adventures, too.

The people on the East Coast are a bit funny.  When they hear that you’re going to live out of a van for 44 days, they’re slightly horrified.  I mean, I got used to pulling over anywhere and cooking out back while it was raining!  It became second nature.  kitchen sink

But, don’t let it deter you.  Just soldier on.  Secretly, they were wishing they were doing it too.van pickup

If you’re interested in trying out a van and want to save a bit of cash… check out relocation vehicles.  Some deals are only $1 a day and even pay for fuel.  They’re quite popular in NZ, Australia and just now starting to pick up in the US.

If you want to be a bit more discreet, hire a van that’s a ‘stow and go’ build a frame in the back of the van and get a blowup mattress.  Make some curtains, crack the windows and voila!  You can park in any parking lot!  I know from experience!
