The Rocks in Sydney, Australia!

Heading to Sydney and not entirely sure what “The Rocks” is? Never fear… here’s an explanation on what to expect down in Sydney!

So you’re travelling to Sydney and everyone is talking about The Rocks! No, The Rocks is not a mythical place in Sydney where a bunch of Aussie giants live.  And no… it’s not based on a pile of rocks on a shoreline! The Rocks is actually a neighbourhood of historic laneways in the shadow of Sydney Harbour Bridge… actually that does kinda sound mythical just like Brigadoon.

And like Brigadoon, you can go 100 years back in time… Except, you’re still I present time, and there’s Sydney prices so expect to pay 4 dollars for a small coffee. But, in saying that, there is a possibility that you may find the man of your dreams.  Personally, I’m on the fence. I’ve been down here a lot and it hasn’t happened yet.

So what to expect? There’s markets, cafe’s and museums!  There’s also some spectacular views and a bunch of pubs.  Basically The Rocks is made for a tourist! So grab your sunnies, make sure you have your hat, sun cream and get your walking shoes ready because the rocks is here to be explored!
